Lifeguard Summer in Dublin

Nobody told us we would have east coast surf in July.

 Despite a rather autumnal feel all 5 new boards got wet along the with SUP, pboards and ski. A beautiful colour display against a solid grey backdrop.

With all the rain best to stay out of the water for a couple of days. We'll have a break over the bank holiday so no bank holoday Sunday training session.

So here's the treat we promised you. ......... Keep your eyes peeled and you'll see more than a few familiar faces.

Big shout out to all the crew abroad at the moment. Hope summer weather is being kinder to you all.

Beach 6:30 Sunday on an evening tide

Beach info to make you look like a pro.....

park smart      - be considerate, leave your car at the harbour,

park crazy      - keep emergency access / public slipway clear

wrapped         - it is really hard to regulate body temperature in a wetsuit on land - if a swimmer is dropped & collected in a wetsuit ..... pack towel/sweat/hat (in case they get cold),  water/tshirt
(in case they get hot) and footwear suitable for the street, regardless be really careful, remember most seasons we have a swim or two where we stay dry; might be for water quality, jellyfish, pizza

we go           - when everyone is changed & gear is "racked 'n packed" , be on time or early for pick ups,

know the lingo #1
a. the soft ones are 'torps', the hard ones are 'cans'
b. de-sand; sand is very abrasive  and the enemy of good gear so we dont pack sand with kit, we 'de-sand' it

Well that was a busy day on the beach. Over 150 competition swimmers alongside the public. Busy. Busy busy.

Next swim sun 5th Jul 1030am Claremont

It's summer, water's warm, wind is cool and the beach is open for business.

July 5th

We're out if the pool for the summer.

Beach kicked off the style this week with new new ski launched in style.

Waaay too much pizza ordered for the last pool swim for a while to mark the end of Season 24./

Were on the beach Sunday 5th July 10.30.

Its all happening Sunday 28th

Open water kicks off Claremont beach Sunday at 11,

Then back to the pool for Sunday at 6.30 for the last pool swim of the season.
