It is with sadness that we heard of the passing yesterday of John McKenna of SJBLSC

John was a senior RLSS man when we were kicking off two decades ago. Always good for a bit of guidance, never short of a joke, integrity in a place devoid of it.

The crew and rescue team at Sthoee offer our sincere condolences to John's family, you shared him with us over a lifetime, for that we will be eternally grateful.

Busiest day of the year on the beach,  call out for coastguard and DFB as the swimmers assembled. 

Hot, sunny with some......... natives ..... on the beach.

Swim went well , over €2500 raised for pieta house, excellent work by Sarah and Howth Coastguard. 

Even when they run charity swims, Ireland's Emergency Services have your back

Friday at 7 the annual emergency services swim is on Claremont Beach .

Open to all emergency services so expect to see coastguard, RNLI, civil defence, fire brigade, ambulance, mountain rescue, air core, hse, lifeguards.

Everyone who has your back is out fundraising for pieta house.

Members come along for an amazing annual event.
